Name - Mukaltin powder for oral solution sachet #10 Pharmacological group: Expectorant. Dosage form: Effervescent powder in sachets. Composition of one sachet: Active substances: Mukaltin (dry extract of aerial parts of Althaea) – 50mg; Peppermint oil – 5.77mg. Excipients: Sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, lactose, saccharin, strawberry flavoring, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyethylene glycol. The preparation contains a complex of biologically active substances: polysaccharides, essential oils, flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol), coumarins, anthocyanins, organic acids (citric, malic, salicylic), vitamin C, pectin substances, carotene. Pharmacological action: Effervescent powder "Mukaltin" is characterized by expectorant, local emollient, and anti-inflammatory action. The expectorant effect of the preparation is provided by the dry extract of aerial parts of Althaea – Mukaltin, which enhances the movement of cilia of the ciliated epithelium of the bronchial mucosa and the secretion of bronchial mucus, causes thinning of sputum, and facilitates its removal from the respiratory tract. Peppermint oil is characterized by bactericidal, antimicrobial, expectorant action, relieves spasms, therefore it enhances the pharmacological activity of Mukaltin, reduces inflammatory processes in the respiratory tract and rhinitis during cold symptoms. The preparation has an emollient effect on mucous membranes, thereby reducing irritation and inflammation of the respiratory tract mucosa and accelerating the regeneration of damaged mucous membranes. Pharmacokinetics: The degree of absorption depends on the dose taken, it is mainly absorbed from the duodenum and small intestine. Indications: Acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract: • Bronchitis; • Pneumonia; • Bronchiectasis; • Tracheitis; • Laryngitis; • Angina. Method of administration and dosage: Take orally, before meals. The effervescent powder should be dissolved in 100ml of warm water. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1-2 sachets 3-4 times a day. Children from 1 to 3 years of age: 1 sachet 1-4 times a day; Children from 3 to 12 years of age: 1-2 sachets 1-4 times a day. The duration of the treatment course is 7-15 days, taking into account the severity of the condition. Side effects: Due to the presence of strawberry flavoring in the preparation, allergic reactions may occur individually: skin rash, itching, urticaria.
