What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Acetylcysteinum Mucosoft is a medicinal product used to thin and clear thick and viscous bronchial secretions, during the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs, such as: acute and chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis (permanent widening of the bronchi), which are associated with increased formation of bronchial secretions and difficulty in expectoration. You should consult a doctor if you do not feel better, or feel worse after 4-5 days. Always take this medicine exactly as described in the enclosed leaflet, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Recommended dosage: Adults and children over 14 years of age: 1 sachet (600 mg acetylcysteine) daily. Children under 14 years of age: The use of this product is not recommended in this age group due to the high content of the active substance (acetylcysteine). Method of use and duration of treatment Oral use Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a cup of hot water and drink while warm, after meals. Taking the preparation with liquids will enhance its secretolytic effect. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and is determined individually. The course of treatment is within 5 to 10 days in case of acute conditions, or 1 to 2 months in case of chronic conditions. The preparation should not be used for more than 4-5 days, unless advised by a doctor. If you are unsure about anything, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
