International Nonproprietary Name - calcium mupirocin Clinical-pharmacological group: Dermatology → Antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal agents Composition Each 1 g of Mupobel 2% cream contains 21.5 mg of calcium mupirocin dihydrate, equivalent to 20 mg of active mupirocin. Excipients include stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol Pharmacological properties: Pharmacodynamic properties: Pharmacotherapeutic group: Dermatological agents, ATC code: D06AX09, Antibiotics and chemotherapeutics for dermatological use. Indications: Mupobel cream is indicated for the topical treatment of secondary infections of traumatic lesions: minor cuts, sutured wounds or bruises (up to 10 cm in length or 100 sq cm in area) caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to mupirocin or any of the excipients. Dosage and administration: Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area. The treated area can be covered with a dressing. Do not mix with other preparations, as there is a risk of dilution, which leads to a decrease in antibacterial activity and loss of mupirocin stability in the ointment. Overdose: The toxicity of mupirocin is very low. In case of accidental ingestion of the ointment, symptomatic treatment should be carried out. In case of accidental oral intake of a large amount of ointment, it is necessary to monitor kidney function in patients with renal insufficiency due to possible side effects of polyethylene glycol. Packaging: Mupobel 2% ointment, packed in an aluminum tube (15 g), with a high-density polyethylene plastic cap, placed in a cardboard box.
