What is it?
Dosage form: Vaginal capsules. Composition: 1 capsule contains: Neomycin sulfate........................ 35,000 IU. Polymyxin B sulfate..................... 35,000 IU. Nystatin.................................. 100,000 IU. Excipients: Hydrogenated soybean oil, Tefose 63, Dimethicone 1000. Shell composition: Gelatin, Glycerin, Dimethicone 1000, sufficient quantity for a capsule weighing 3.2 g. Description: Light pink, soft, oval-shaped capsules with an oily, viscous, homogeneous mass content. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Combined antimicrobial agent. Pharmacological properties: Acts on some Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms including Corynebacterium spp., Staphylococcus spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Enterococcus teacium, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It has fungicidal and fungistatic action. Active against Candida spp., Histoplasma spp., Coccidiodes spp., Cryptococcus spp. Improves vaginal mucosa trophism. Pharmacokinetics: Active substances are evenly distributed on the vaginal mucosa and exhibit local bactericidal and fungicidal action. Indications: Treatment: Local treatment of non-specific, fungal, mixed vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, and cervicovaginitis. Prevention: Before all types of gynecological surgery; before and after cervical diathermy coagulation; before intrauterine diagnostic procedures; before childbirth. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Dosage and administration: Administered intravaginally. One vaginal capsule before bedtime after evening hygiene. Duration of treatment 12 days. For prevention, a 6-day course. Side effects: Allergic reactions to any component of the preparation. Prolonged use of the preparation may lead to systemic manifestations of aminoglycoside side effects. Drug interactions: The use of spermicides is not recommended during Polyginax treatment, as any vaginal treatment reduces spermicidal activity. Important information: Follow the indicated dosage regimen, as there is a risk of developing resistant strains and superinfection. Prolonged treatment with the preparation may lead to systemic manifestations of aminoglycoside side effects, which are intensified in case of renal insufficiency. The preparation can also be used during menstruation. Consult a doctor for advice in case of renal insufficiency. Pregnancy and lactation: Consult a doctor for advice during pregnancy. The preparation can only be prescribed when the benefit to the mother clearly outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. As there is insufficient data on the excretion of active substances into breast milk, the use of the preparation during lactation is not recommended. Presentation: 6 vaginal capsules per blister, 1 or 2 blisters and instructions for use in a cardboard box. Storage conditions: Store the preparation at room temperature, not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Expiration date: 1.5 years. Do not use the preparation after the expiration date indicated on the box. Dispensing: By prescription.
