What is it?
Dosage form: Syrup. Pharmacological group: Combined herbal expectorant and sedative. Composition per 130g: Thyme liquid extract - 15.6g; Potassium bromide - 1.3g; Sorbic acid or methylparaben; Ethanol; Sugar syrup. Thyme liquid extract contains a complex of biologically active substances: essential oil (main components are thymol, carvacrol, linalool), flavonoids, ursolic and oleanolic acids. Pharmacological action: Exhibits antitussive, expectorant, antiseptic, and sedative effects. Indications: Used in complex therapy as an adjunct for: • Upper respiratory tract catarrh; • Bronchitis; • Tracheitis; • Whooping cough. Side effects: Allergic reactions to the components of the preparation. In case of side effects, the patient should discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Method of administration and dosage: Orally, before meals. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 15ml syrup 3-4 times a day. Children from 1 to 3 years of age: 2.5ml syrup 2-3 times a day; Children from 3 to 6 years of age: 5ml syrup 2-3 times a day; Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 10ml syrup 2-3 times a day; (May be taken diluted with water in the indicated doses). The duration of treatment is determined individually by the doctor. Missed dose: If a dose is missed, do not take a double dose. The next dose should be taken as soon as possible or according to the original schedule. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to bromides; heart failure; hypotension; anemia; diabetes mellitus. Pregnancy and lactation: The preparation is not used during pregnancy and lactation. Effect on ability to drive and operate machinery: Taking the preparation does not affect the ability to drive and operate machinery. Interaction with other medicinal products: It is not recommended to take the preparation together with cough suppressants and preparations containing codeine. Special instructions: The preparation is not prescribed for children under one year of age. Overdose: Symptoms: nausea, vomiting. Treatment: Discontinue the preparation. Caution: The preparation should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy and lactation. Shelf life: 2 years. The preparation is not allowed for use after the expiry date or if defects are found during visual inspection.
