What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - bilastine Clinical-pharmacological group: Allergology → Histamine H1 receptor blockers → Systemic drugs → Second-generation preparations The preparation Nixar® contains bilastine, which is an antihistamine. Nixar® is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (sneezing, itching, runny nose, nasal congestion, red watery eyes) and other forms of allergic rhinitis. The preparation is also used to treat urticaria (skin rash with itching). How to take Nixar® For adults, elderly patients, and adolescents aged 12 years and older: • Take one tablet once a day. • The tablet should be taken on an empty stomach, for example, in the morning before breakfast. Avoid eating for 1 hour after taking bilastine. • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. • The score line is not intended for dividing the tablet into equal doses. The score line is used to divide the tablet to make it easier to swallow. The duration of use of Nixar® will be determined by your doctor after diagnosing the type of disease. Possible side effects Like all medicines, Nixar® can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The following side effects may occur: Side effects that occur frequently (affecting 1 to 10 out of 100 patients) • Headache • Drowsiness Side effects that occur sometimes (affecting 1 to 10 out of 1000 patients) • Changes in the electrocardiogram • Impaired biochemical indicators of liver function • Dizziness • Abdominal pain • Fatigue • Increased appetite • Cardiac conduction disorder • Weight gain • Nausea • Restlessness • Dryness or unpleasant sensation in the nose • Diarrhea • Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) • Vertigo (feeling faint or spinning) • Feeling of weakness • Thirst • Dyspnea (difficulty breathing) • Dry mouth • Indigestion • Itching • Herpes on the face or in the mouth • Fever • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) • Sleep disturbances • Impaired biochemical indicators of kidney function • Increased blood lipid levels
