Method of administration and dosage: For aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: It is recommended to use nimodipine intravenously by infusion for 5-14 days, at a dose of 1 mg. The duration of the first infusion is 2 hours. With good tolerance to the drug, 2 mg is administered by infusion over the next 2 hours, and after infusion treatment, 2 tablets 6 times a day. In case of severe liver disease, the dose should be reduced or discontinued. In case of impaired liver function, especially cirrhosis, the bioavailability of nimodipine may increase due to reduced first-pass metabolism and metabolic inactivation. Consequently, the therapeutic and side effects of the drug increase, especially the hypotensive effect. In this case, the dose of the drug should be reduced according to blood pressure readings. Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: After infusion for 5-14 days, take tablets for 7 days. Traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage: 7-10 days of infusion followed by tablets for 11-14 days. Disorders of brain function in the elderly: If treatment lasts for several months, the indications should be justified for continuing treatment.
