What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Sodium chloride, sodium hydrocarbonate Clinical-pharmacological group: Otorhinolaryngology → Agents for rhinitis and sinusitis What does Nizita nasal ointment contain? 100g of ointment contains 2.8g of sodium chloride and 7.2g of sodium bicarbonate. Other components: Lanolin alcohol, lemon oil, white petrolatum, medium-chain triglycerides, thickened paraffin, cetyl stearyl alcohol. When is Nizita nasal ointment used? Nizita nasal ointment is used for dryness of the nasal mucosa • Nasal congestion, e.g. for supportive therapy during a cold • To clean and moisturize the nasal mucosa, e.g. during dry air in the room • To soften scabs and crusts. Nizita nasal ointment is intended for adults, children, and infants. How to use Nizita nasal ointment? Several times a day, rub approximately a 1 cm strip of ointment into each nostril. Insert the tip of the tube as deep as possible into each nostril, squeeze out a small amount of ointment, and distribute this mass evenly over the nasal mucosa by gently massaging the sides of the nose. Nizita nasal ointment can also be applied to the inside of the nose with a cotton swab. The ointment should be used several times a day, especially before bedtime. For hygiene reasons and to prevent infections, each dispenser should be used by only one person. The tip of the tube should be washed after use. How long can Nizita nasal ointment be used? Nizita nasal ointment can be used for a prolonged period as needed. If the condition does not improve after 14 days of treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist. What undesirable side effects can Nizita nasal ointment have? In rare cases, Nizita nasal ointment may cause mild burning of the nasal mucosa due to its irritant effect. Lanolin alcohol and lemon oil contained in the ointment can very rarely cause an allergic reaction.
