International Nonproprietary Name - Glutathionum Pharmacological group: Parenteral agents for rehydration and detoxification What is Noximed and what is it used for Noximed contains the active substance Glutathione and belongs to the group of drugs that protect nerve cells and prevent nervous disorders (neuropathy) when using anticancer drugs such as cisplatin or cisplatin analogues. How to use Noximed Always use the medication as prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Adults The usual dose is 1-2 vials per day intramuscularly, or slow intravenous injection or intravenous infusion. The dose is determined by age, body weight, and health status, as well as the dose of the anticancer drug you are taking. How it is used The medication should be administered 15-30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy. For intramuscular injection or intravenous bolus injection, dissolve the contents of the vial in the solvent ampoule provided in the medicine package. For intravenous infusion, the above-mentioned prepared solution should be diluted in 20 ml of water for injection. The recommended solution should be used immediately after preparation. The diluted solution should be clear, colorless, and free of visible particles. It is administered once in a continuous flow. Do not use the remaining solution. The preparation cannot be mixed with other products unless its compatibility is known. Observe all precautions to ensure sterility before and after use. Possible side effects Like all medications, Noximed can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The undesirable effects of Noximed are listed below. According to the data, the frequency of individual drug effects has not been assessed. - Nausea, vomiting; - Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity), skin rash, itching of the skin (urticaria); - Headache (cephalalgia); - Fever, pain and infection at the infusion site, formation of a blood clot in a vein (venous thrombosis), inflammation of veins at or around the infusion site (phlebitis and bruising of veins).
