What is it?
Oxytocin Dosage Form and Composition 1 ml solution (1 ampoule) contains: Active substance - Oxytocin 5 IU; Indications for Use: Induction and stimulation of labor, induction of abortion according to medical indications, acceleration of postpartum uterine involution and cessation of postpartum hemorrhage, strengthening uterine contractility during cesarean section (after removal of the placenta). Dosage and Administration: An oxytocin test is performed to assess the condition of the placenta and fetus, as well as for pregnant women at risk to prevent possible complications. For infusion, oxytocin is diluted in 500 ml of sterile 5% glucose solution or 0.9% sodium chloride solution. For stimulation of labor, it is recommended to dilute 10 IU of oxytocin in 500 ml of diluent (infusion rate 3 ml/h or 0.001 IU/min); for a high dose, 30 IU of oxytocin is diluted in 500 ml of diluent (infusion rate 1 ml/h or 0.001 IU/min). Storage Conditions: Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2 to 8°C. Do not freeze! Keep out of reach of children!
