Kidney Tea Composition and Dosage Form Kidney Tea. Folia Orthosiphoni stamine is available in 50 g plant and 50 g granule forms. The preparation contains triterpene saponins, orthosiphon glycosides, 5-6% tannins. Kidney Tea is mainly used as a diuretic for acute and chronic kidney diseases accompanied by edema, nitrogen retention, albuminuria, and kidney stones. It is also used for cystitis, urethritis, diabetes, cholecystitis, gallstones, and heart diseases accompanied by edema. Along with increased urine output, urea, uric acid, and chlorides are eliminated from the body. Kidney Tea can be taken with cardiac glycosides by patients with decompensation of circulatory insufficiency of II and III degree, as well as with hypertension caused by impaired kidney function. For those suffering from chronic cholecystitis and gallstones, taking Kidney Tea enhances gastric juice secretion and increases the amount of free hydrochloric acid in the body. Long-term use of Kidney Tea is very effective for many kidney diseases and has no contraindications.
