Properties

What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - diclofenac Composition: 1g of gel contains: Active substance: Diclofenac sodium (MHH Diclofenacum natricum) – 10mg Excipients: Isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, carbomer, triethanolamine, methylparaben, purified water. Dosage form: Gel for external use Pharmacotherapeutic group: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Indications: Pain in degenerative-dystrophic diseases of joints and spine, inflammation and swelling, rheumatic diseases, sports and household injuries. The gel should not be applied to the painful surface together with other agents intended for external use. This is only possible as prescribed by a doctor. Method of administration and dosage: Apply 2-4g of gel to the affected area of the skin over a surface area of 400-800 cm2 and rub into the skin. The procedure can be repeated 3-4 times a day. Side effects: Ortofen gel is well tolerated, however, skin irritation (redness, burning, rash) may rarely occur. With prolonged external use over a large body surface area, systemic side effects may manifest due to the resorptive action of diclofenac: dizziness, headaches, vomiting, epigastric pain; hypersensitivity reactions (bronchial asthma attacks, Quincke's edema, etc.). In case of the mentioned side effects, or any other undesirable reactions, consult a doctor regarding further use of the preparation.
