What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Glucosaminum sulfate International Nonproprietary Name: Glucosamine Pharmacotherapeutic group: Anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs, non-steroidal. Glucosamine sulfate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drug used in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. OSTEDON contains the salt of the aminomonosaccharide glucosamine sulfate, which is found in the human body and is used for the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, the main substance of synovial fluid and joint cartilage. Pharmacological research has shown that exogenous administration of glucosamine is a preferred substrate for the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans and, consequently, joint proteoglycans, and improves biosynthetic processes. OSTEDON contains aspartame: The product contains aspartame and is therefore contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria. OSTEDON contains sodium: One sachet contains 151 mg (6.6 mmol) of sodium. If you are on a low-sodium diet, please take this information into account. Dosage and administration: Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water and drink. The recommended dose is 1 sachet (1500mg glucosamine sulfate) daily, preferably during meals. Duration of treatment: 3 months The therapeutic regimen may be repeated at two-month intervals or if symptoms recur. OSTEDON overdose: There is no data on accidental or intentional overdose. Based on studies of acute and chronic toxicity in animals, there is a minimal possibility of toxicity symptoms, even with very high doses. OSTEDON missed dose: Take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, do not take the missed dose, simply continue with the next dose. You cannot take a double dose to make up for a missed one. Information on side effects: If you notice any side effects, including those not described in the instructions for use, tell your doctor or pharmacist. By reporting side effects, you will help ensure the safe use of the drug. Storage conditions: Keep the preparation out of the reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date indicated on the carton or sachet. The expiry date applies to the last day of that month. Do not store above 250C. Do not open the preparation in conditions of extreme heat. Do not store medicines in the bathroom. Excessive heat and humidity can affect the medicine, which is harmful to your health. Do not dispose of medicines down the drain or with household waste. Ask your pharmacist about their disposal. These measures will help protect the environment.
