International Nonproprietary Name - Diphenhydramine+Phenylephrine+Chlorphenamine Pharmacological Group: H 1 Histamine Receptor Blockers Paido-Terin - Decongestant Syrup is a compound of Phenylephrine, Diphenhydramine, and Chlorpheniramine. Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic amine that acts on alpha-adrenergic receptors of the respiratory tract mucosa to induce vasoconstriction, which temporarily reduces swelling associated with mucosal inflammation, thereby clearing nasal passages and acting as a decongestant. Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine are two antihistamines that prevent, but do not improve, histamine-induced reactions. The antimucolytic action of antihistamines provides a soothing effect on the nasal mucosa. Relieves swelling of the upper respiratory tract mucosa associated with allergic rhinitis, occurring over many years or during seasonal periods.
