What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - olopatadine Clinical-pharmacological group: Ophthalmology → Antiallergic agents for topical use in ophthalmology Dosage form: Eye drops 0.1% Description: Transparent, colorless solution Composition: 1 ml of the preparation contains Active substance: olopatadine (in the form of olopatadine hydrochloride) 1 mg. Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, disodium anhydrous phosphate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid, water for injection. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antiallergic preparations. Indications for use: - Allergic conjunctivitis. Method of administration and dosage: For topical use only. Shake the bottle before use. In adults and children over 3 years of age, instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 2 times a day. The interval between instillations is 6-8 hours. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to olopatadine or other components of the preparation. Side effects: Local reactions: less than 5% – blurred vision, burning and stinging of the eyes, tearing, foreign body sensation in the eyes, conjunctival hyperemia, keratitis, iritis, eyelid edema. Systemic reactions: in 0.1-1% - weakness, headache, dizziness, nausea, pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, taste disturbance. Special instructions: The preparation Palada contains the preservative benzalkonium chloride, which can be absorbed by contact lenses. Lenses should be removed before instilling the preparation and reinserted no earlier than 20 minutes after instillation. The tip of the dropper should not come into contact with any surface to avoid contamination of the solution. Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery: If the patient's vision is temporarily impaired after using the preparation, it is not recommended to drive a car and perform actions that require increased attention until vision is restored.
