What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Azapentacenum Composition Active substance: Sodium azapentacene polysulfonate 0.15 mg/ml. Excipients: Boric acid, sodium tetraborate decahydrate, potassium chloride, thimerosal, methylparahydroxybenzoate, propylparahydroxybenzoate, sodium hydroxide, purified water. Indications for use - Senile cataract - Traumatic cataract - Congenital cataract - Secondary cataract Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Method of administration and dosage The preparation should be instilled into the affected eye, 1-2 drops, 3-5 times a day. The preparation is prescribed for long-term therapy. It is not recommended to discontinue treatment, even if rapid clinical improvement occurs. Overdose No symptoms of overdose have been established in case of accidental ingestion. Excess preparation can be removed with warm running water. Side effects When administered at recommended doses, side effects have not been observed. Use in pediatrics There is insufficient experience with the use of Pentaxol in children. The use of Pentaxol in children is possible when the expected therapeutic effect outweighs the potential risk of developing possible side effects. Pregnancy and lactation There is insufficient experience with the use of Pentaxol during pregnancy and lactation. The use of Pentaxol in pregnant women and nursing mothers is possible when the expected therapeutic effect outweighs the potential risk of developing possible side effects for the fetus and child. Effect on ability to drive and use machines For patients whose vision is impaired after instillation, it is not recommended to drive a car or operate complex machinery, equipment, or any other complex devices that require sharp vision immediately after instillation.
