What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - thymus serpillium+potassium bromide Composition: Thyme liquid extract 120 g Potassium bromide 10 g Sugar syrup 820 g Ethanol 80% 50 g Description: Viscous brown liquid with an aromatic odor. Pharmacological group: Expectorant Pharmacological action: Thyme preparations exhibit a pronounced expectorant effect, increasing the amount of secretory discharge from the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract. They help to thin phlegm and accelerate its evacuation. Potassium bromide reduces the excitability of the central nervous system. Indications for use: The preparation is prescribed for acute respiratory diseases, tracheitis, bronchitis, as well as for whooping cough in children. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, pregnancy, lactation, decompensated heart failure. Dosage and administration: For oral administration. Adults: 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. Children: Depending on age, 1/2 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. Side effects: Allergic reactions may occur. In case of overdose, nausea.
