What is it?

Contents Pyridoxine hydrochloride Indications for use Pyridoxine hydrochloride is used: In hypo- and avitaminosis B6. During toxicosis of pregnancy, atherosclerosis, anemias (radiculitis, neuritis, neuralgia, Parkinsonism, Little's disease). For involutional age depressions, acute and chronic hepatitis, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, exudative diathesis. It is also prescribed for motion sickness and Meniere's disease. In addition, pyridoxine hydrochloride prevents or reduces the toxic effects (especially polyneuritis) during treatment with antituberculosis drugs. Dosage and administration Pyridoxine hydrochloride is administered intramuscularly, intravenously, and subcutaneously, especially when oral administration is impossible due to impaired intestinal absorption. Prophylactic doses For the prevention of B6 hypovitaminosis: The daily dose for adults is 0.002-0.005 g, for children – 0.002 g per day. Therapeutic doses (parenteral) General therapeutic dose: The daily therapeutic dose for adults, administered in 1-2 doses, is 0.05-0.1 g, for children – 0.02 g. The course of treatment is 30 days and 14 days, respectively. For Parkinsonism: 2 ml of 5% solution is administered IM daily (course – 20-25 days, repeated course in 2-3 months). According to another scheme, the 5% solution is administered IM with an initial daily dose of 50-100 mg, and then the dose is increased daily by 50 mg to 300-400 mg per day (once). In this case, therapy is carried out in courses of 12-15 days. For the treatment of involutional age depressions: Pyridoxine hydrochloride-Darnitsa is administered intramuscularly at 200 mg per day. For the therapy of sideroblastic anemia: The drug is administered IM 100 mg (0.1 g) twice a week (the use of folic acid, riboflavin, vitamin B12 is recommended at this time). To prevent neuritis and other complications with ftivazide and other derivatives of isonicotinic acid hydrazide: Pyridoxine hydrochloride is prescribed at 0.005-0.01 g per day.
