What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - levocetirizine Clinical-pharmacological group: Allergology → Histamine H1 receptor blockers → Systemic drugs → Second-generation preparations Indications Polezin is used to treat allergic disorders. Its active substance belongs to the group of antihistamine medicinal products that block H-1 receptors. In adolescents and children over 2 years of age, it is used to treat the symptoms and signs of allergic conditions (sneezing, runny nose, rhinitis, symptoms from the eyes and skin) such as, for example: - Hay fever - Persistent allergic rhinitis - Urticaria Dosage and administration Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure about anything, consult your doctor. The required amount of drops is measured on a tablespoon or in a glass of water using the dropper. The drops should be taken immediately after opening, independently of food. The duration of the course depends on the nature, duration, and dynamics of the patient's complaints. Usually, the treatment of hay fever lasts 3-6 weeks. Usual doses: Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1*1 ml drops per day (= 1*20 drops from the dropper). (5 mg once a day). Adolescents aged 6-12 years: 1*1 ml drops per day (= 1*20 drops from the dropper). (5 mg once a day). Adolescents aged 2-6 years: 2*0.25 ml drops per day (= 2*5 drops from the dropper). (2.5 mg daily in two divided doses: 2*1.25 mg). It is possible to administer a reduced dose to patients with impaired kidney function. This depends on the severity of kidney damage. The dosage regimen should be determined by a doctor. Dose adjustment is not required in patients with impaired liver function. In patients with simultaneous impairment of kidney and liver function, a reduced dose may be administered depending on the severity of kidney damage. Consult your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects: Frequent: (1 to 10 patients in 100) Dry mouth, headache, fatigue, drowsiness. Infrequent: (less than 1 patient in 100) Malaise, abdominal pain. Very rare: (less than 1 patient in 10,000) Allergy, shortness of breath, nausea, skin rash, swelling, urticaria, weight gain, impaired liver function.
