What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - triamcinolone, tetracycline Clinical-pharmacological group: Dermatology → Anti-inflammatory agents → Glucocorticosteroids for external use Composition 1 fl. Triamcinolone acetonide . . . . .10 mg Tetracycline hydrochloride. . .400 mg Excipients: Span 85, isopropyl myristate, propane and butane mixture (Drivosol 35). Pharmacological properties The preparation has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiexudative, and antiallergic effects. Tetracycline hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, exhibiting bacteriostatic action by inhibiting microbial protein synthesis. Indications - Allergic skin diseases complicated by secondary bacterial infections (atopic dermatitis, eczema, urticaria); - Skin diseases caused by tetracycline-sensitive microorganisms, as well as mixed infections (impetigo, furunculosis, folliculitis, hidradenitis, erysipelas, and others). Dosage and administration Spray the affected skin area with aerosol for 1-3 seconds, holding the bottle vertically at a distance of 15-20 cm from the skin. The procedure is carried out 2-4 times a day at equal time intervals. The duration of treatment is individual and usually lasts 5-10 days. If necessary, the preparation can be used for more than 4 weeks. Polcortolone TC is not used in children under 3 years of age. It is prescribed with caution in children over 3 years of age only once a day, on small skin areas and for a short period. Side effects When used on small areas and for a short period, the preparation does not cause significant side effects, however, itching, skin irritation, and purpura may develop. With prolonged use of the preparation, secondary infectious complications, post-steroid vascular purpura, suppression of epidermal growth, skin dryness, hirsutism, pigmentation, skin atrophy, and telangiectasias may develop. These events occur very rarely, mainly with the use of occlusive dressings. Tetracycline, included in the preparation, may cause photosensitization, so areas of skin treated with aerosol should be protected from direct sunlight. Contraindications Infected skin lesions, including viral, fungal, skin tuberculosis, skin neoplasms and precancerous conditions, vaccination period, glaucoma, hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, violation of the integrity of the skin. Pediatric age up to 3 years. Pregnancy and lactation Animal experiments have revealed teratogenic effects of the preparation, therefore, Polcortolone TC is used during pregnancy only when the beneficial effect for the mother significantly outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Not used in the I trimester of pregnancy. It is not known whether triamcinolone acetonide for external use is excreted in breast milk. Therefore, during lactation, the preparation is used only in exceptional cases, on small areas for a short period. Not used on the skin of the mammary gland.
