What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Potassium iodide, Sod.iodide Composition Each ml contains Active ingredients: Sodium iodide (KP) - 3 mg (as iodide 2.54 mg) Potassium iodide (KP) - 3 mg (as iodide 2.29 mg) Inactive ingredient (preservative): Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (KP) - 0.4 mg Other inactive ingredients: Sodium borate, Boric acid, Disodium edetate hydrate, Sodium chloride, Water for injection, Hypromellose 2910 Appearance Colorless transparent solution in a plastic bottle Indications Hemorrhage caused by senility, myopia, hypertension, diabetes, periphlebitis, and opacity of the eye lens. Dosage and Administration Adults: Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) 1-3 times daily. Remove contact lenses from the affected eye(s) before use. Precautions 1. Do not use in the following patients 1) Patients with hypersensitivity to the drug 2) Patients with thyroid dysfunction 3) Pregnant women, nursing mothers, children 2. Adverse reactions 1) Local: Mild burning sensation. Tearing may occur occasionally. 2) Systemic: As this drug contains iodide, it may cause hyperthyroidism and acneiform eruptions in patients predisposed to acne. 3. General precautions Patients wearing contact lenses should instill this drug after removing the lenses and reinsert the lenses 30 minutes after instillation. 4. Information for patients 1) For ophthalmic use only. 2) Do not allow the tip of the container to touch the eye(s). 3) Do not share this medicine with others to avoid infection. 4) Do not use after the expiration date or 1 month after opening. 5) To reduce systemic effects, it is recommended to gently press the lacrimal punctum with a finger for 1-2 minutes after instillation. 5. Storage 1) Keep out of reach of children. 2) Close the cap immediately after use. 3) Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. 4) Do not transfer the contents to another container to prevent misuse and ensure quality.
