What is it?

Oak Bark. Cortex Quercus comes in 50 g plant form. Oak bark contains pyrogallol group tannins (10-20%), gallic and ellagic acids, flavonoids (quercetin, phlobaphene), pectins, pentosans, protein substances, and starch. Oak bark infusions are used as an astringent, anti-inflammatory agent for rinsing the mouth and throat in cases of stomatitis, gingivitis, and pharyngitis. Oak bark decoction (1:10) is particularly effective. For this, place 20 g (2 tablespoons) of crushed raw material in an enameled dish, pour 200 ml (1 teacup) of hot water, cover with a lid, and heat in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, strain. Dilute the resulting decoction with boiled water to the initial volume (up to 200 ml). This decoction is used for rinsing in cases of inflammation of the gums and oral mucosa 6-8 times a day. A decoction of the same concentration is used for indigestion, gastrointestinal bleeding, and chronic intestinal inflammation. Drink 1/2 cup 3 times a day before meals. Sometimes, an infusion is prepared as follows: pour 1 teaspoon of crushed raw material over 2 teacups of cold water, let stand for 6 hours, take 1/2 cup 3-4 times a day, before meals.
