What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - ramipril, amlodipine Clinical-pharmacological group: Cardiovascular system → Antihypertensives → Calcium channel blockers What does Hartil Amlo contain? Active ingredients: Hartil Amlo, hard capsules 2.5 mg/2.5 mg: 2.5 mg ramipril and 2.5 mg amlodipine per capsule. Hartil Amlo, hard capsules 5 mg/5 mg: 5 mg ramipril and 5 mg amlodipine per capsule. Hartil Amlo, hard capsules 10 mg/5 mg: 10 mg ramipril and 5 mg amlodipine per capsule. Hartil Amlo, hard capsules 5 mg/10 mg: 5 mg ramipril and 10 mg amlodipine per capsule. Hartil Amlo, hard capsules 10 mg/10 mg: 10 mg ramipril and 10 mg amlodipine per capsule. Excipients: crospovidone, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, glycerol dibehenate. Pharmacological properties Hartil Amlo consists of two drugs, ramipril and amlodipine. Ramipril belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors (angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors), and amlodipine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. Action of ramipril: • Reduces the production of substances in your body that can increase blood pressure. • Relaxes and widens your blood vessels. • Makes it easier for your heart to pump blood throughout your body. Action of amlodipine: • Relaxes and widens your blood vessels. Indications Hartil Amlo can be used to treat patients with high blood pressure (hypertension) for whom both drugs, used simultaneously in therapeutic doses, both in combination and individually, have an adequate effect. Dosage and administration Always take Hartil Amlo exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure about anything, consult your doctor or pharmacist. When taking this medicine, remember: • This medicine is taken orally, at the same time of day, daily throughout the course of treatment, both before and after meals. • The hard capsules should be swallowed whole with liquid. • Do not crush or chew the hard capsules. How much medicine to take • The usual dose is 1 capsule, at the dosage prescribed by your doctor. • Depending on the therapeutic effect, your doctor may increase or change the dose. • The maximum dose is 1 capsule of 10/10 mg, once a day. Administration in liver and kidney diseases The dosage of the drug may be changed in case of liver and kidney diseases. Side effects Like all medicines, Hartil Amlo can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. If any of the following serious side effects occur, stop taking Hartil Amlo and seek immediate medical attention – you may need emergency medical help: • Swelling of the face, lips, or throat, accompanied by difficulty swallowing or breathing, as well as itching and rash. This may be a sign of a severe allergic reaction to Hartil Amlo. • Severe skin reactions, including rash, mouth sores, worsening of existing skin conditions, redness, blistering, or skin peeling (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, or erythema multiforme).
