What is it?
Combined medicine Each 1.0 milliliter contains • Active ingredients: 100.00 mg Sodium alginate and 20.00 mg Potassium bicarbonate • Excipients: Calcium carbonate, Carbomer 974P, Saccharin sodium, Methylparaben (E 218), Propylparaben (E 216), Peppermint oil, Sodium hydroxide, Purified water. Read the leaflet carefully before using the preparation, as it contains important information for you. - Keep the leaflet. You may need to read it again. - If you have additional questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. - This preparation has been prescribed for you. Do not pass it on to others. - When using the preparation, inform your doctor or hospital staff that you are taking this preparation. - Follow the instructions in the leaflet exactly. Do not take more or less than the recommended dose. 1. What is Refcon Advance and what is it used for? Refcon Advance is a dark white viscous suspension with a peppermint flavor. Refcon Advance is presented in a 200 ml amber glass bottle, placed in a cardboard box. Refcon Advance belongs to a group of preparations used to suppress reflux (inflammation of the stomach and esophagus). Refcon Advance is used to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux (inflammation of the stomach and esophagus), such as heartburn after meals or dyspeptic (reflux-induced) heartburn caused by reflux esophagitis, pregnancy, or acid regurgitation. 2. What you need to know before using Refcon Advance Do not take Refcon Advance if: • You are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients in the preparation (if you notice difficulty breathing or a skin rash) Take special care when using Refcon Advance, if: Each 10 ml dose contains 125.5 mg of sodium and 78 mg of potassium. This should be taken into account when a diet with strict salt restriction is recommended, e.g., in some cases of heart and kidney failure or when taking preparations that increase plasma potassium levels. • Each 10 ml contains 200 mg of calcium carbonate. Caution is needed in patients being treated for hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in the blood), nephrocalcinosis (calcium accumulation in the kidneys), and recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones. • The effect of the medication may be reduced in patients with low stomach acid levels. • If symptoms do not improve after seven days of treatment or worsen, the doctor must review the clinical condition. If you have any of the following problems, your doctor needs to manage the treatment carefully. • If your doctor has advised you to restrict sodium and/or potassium. • If you have kidney and heart disease or have experienced it in the past (some salts affect these conditions). • If you have acute kidney failure. • If your symptoms have not improved after seven days. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age without a doctor's advice. If any of the above symptoms develop, even if they have occurred in the past, consult your doctor. Taking with food and drink Refcon Advance is taken orally, after meals. Pregnancy Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation. Refcon Advance can be taken during pregnancy. If you discover you are pregnant during treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Lactation Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation. Refcon Advance does not affect the child during lactation. Breastfeeding mothers can take Refcon Advance. As with other medications, the duration of use of Refcon Advance should be as short as possible. Driving and operating machinery Refcon Advance does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
