What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - hydrocortisone Clinical-pharmacological group: Proctology → Hemorrhoid treatments → Topical preparations Composition: 1 suppository contains: Active ingredients: Hydrocortisone acetate 10 mg (0.5%), Zinc sulfate monohydrate 11 mg (0.55%), Shark liver oil 60 mg (3%). Excipients: Hard fat, anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium stearate, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates. Dosage form: Rectal suppositories Pharmacotherapeutic group: Topical preparation for hemorrhoid treatment. Pharmacological properties. Shark liver oil - has local anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, wound-healing, immunomodulatory effects. Hydrocortisone acetate - has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-edema effects, reduces itching intensity. Zinc sulfate monohydrate - promotes healing of wounds and erosions, regulates skin hydration. Indications: External and internal hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, ulcers, perianal and rectal erosions accompanied by inflammatory manifestations, proctitis; anal itching, eczema, perianal dermatitis. Dosage and administration: The preparation is used after hygiene procedures. Insert 1 suppository rectally 4 times a day. Side effects: Local allergic reactions (hyperemia, edema, itching) are possible. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation, specific (bacterial, fungal, viral, tuberculous) lesions of the anorectal area, neoplasms of the anal canal. Overdose: No cases of overdose have been reported. Prolonged use of the preparation at high doses may carry a risk of systemic effects of hydrocortisone, such as menstrual cycle disorders, increased blood pressure, muscle weakness, insomnia, increased blood sugar levels. Precautions: The use of the preparation is not recommended in children under 12 years of age, during pregnancy and lactation without consulting a doctor. Use with caution in arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, diabetes mellitus. In case of significant bloody discharge from the anus or lack of therapeutic effect within 7 days after using the preparation, additional consultation with a proctologist is necessary.
