International Nonproprietary Name - bacteriolysas Escherichia coli Clinical-pharmacological group: Proctology → Hemorrhoid treatments → Preparations for local use Composition Composition of REPARON suppositories: - Active component: Each suppository contains 0.66 billion inactivated E. coli vaccine. - Other ingredients: Liquid phenol, hard fat, medium-chain triglycerides, distilled water. Appearance of REPARON suppositories and packaging contents Suppository of elongated shape, white or yellowish-white color, odorless or with a characteristic, slightly sweetish odor. Dosage and administration What REPARON suppositories are and what they are used for The active ingredient of REPARON suppositories is a suspension of dead bacterial culture (solid elements of Escherichia coli bacteria killed by phenol and its metabolic products). The effect of the bacterial culture suspension on the skin and mucous membranes stimulates the immune response (body's defense against infections), strengthens the natural protective mechanisms of tissues, reduces susceptibility to infections, and promotes wound healing. REPARON suppositories are used for the treatment of hemorrhoids (hemorrhoidal disease) and its complications, such as pain, itching, eczema (skin inflammation characterized by itching, formation of small blisters filled with fluid), and anal fissures. Before using REPARON suppositories REPARON should not be used in the following cases: - In case of allergy (hypersensitivity) to any of the ingredients of REPARON suppositories. Unless otherwise indicated by your doctor, wash and then insert one suppository into the rectum, use 1 or 2 times a day. - Avoid contact of the preparation with the eye area and oral mucous membranes. Wash your hands after each use. In case of contact with the aforementioned areas, rinse with water. - REPARON suppositories may stain underwear, so we recommend using pads. Elderly patients (over 65 years of age) Elderly patients should use the suppositories as usual. Children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) Use of suppositories is restricted for individuals under 18 years of age. In case of overdose of REPARON suppositories No cases of overdose or intoxication have been reported. Ingestion of the preparation (by children) may cause gastrointestinal irritation (abdominal pain, nausea). In case of suspected overdose, consult a doctor immediately! If you forget to use REPARON suppositories Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose. Continue treatment as prescribed. If you stop using REPARON suppositories If you stop using REPARON suppositories before the recommended time, your symptoms may worsen. Consult your doctor to determine the duration of treatment. Pregnancy and lactation There is no clinical data regarding the use of REPARON suppositories during pregnancy and lactation. Given that the phenol content in the product as a preservative is very low compared to previously used solutions, no danger is expected for either the mother or the child.
