What is it?
International Name - METRONIDAZOLE Active Substance: METRONIDAZOLE Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Nitroimidazole derivative. Composition and Dosage Form: Ointment 1%: 25 g tube 1 g METRONIDAZOLE ........ 10 mg Pharmacological Properties: The preparation is used in dermatology. It disrupts DNA synthesis and inhibits the formation of nucleic acids. The preparation acts on many anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, thus providing effective and targeted therapy. Indications: Recommended for topical use in the treatment of inflammatory papules, pustules, and erythema (acnae rozacea, acnae vulgaris). Method of Administration and Dosage: Apply the ointment in a thin layer 1-2 times a day after washing the skin with warm water or chamomile decoction; the preparation can be used for 1-2 months. Clinical improvement is expected after the first three weeks of treatment. Side Effects: Rarely, transient redness, slight dryness of the skin, itching, and a feeling of tightness locally. Systemic side reactions are not observed. Contraindications: * Hypersensitivity to metronidazole. Special Instructions: After using the preparation, avoid contact with mucous membranes of the eyes, keep the skin away from direct sunlight. Interaction with Other Drugs: There is a theoretical possibility of enhanced effect of oral anticoagulants. Storage Conditions: Store the preparation at a temperature not exceeding 250C. Shelf Life: 2 years.
