What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Rosuvastatinum+Ezetimibum Pharmacological Group: Lipid Metabolism Regulators ROZULIP® PLUS Capsules 5mg/10mg, 10mg/10mg, 20mg/10mg, (Rosuvastatin/Ezetimibe) ROZULIP PLUS contains two different active substances in one capsule. The first active substance is rosuvastatin, which belongs to the so-called statins. The second active substance is ezetimibe. ROZULIP PLUS is a preparation used to lower levels of total cholesterol, "bad" cholesterol (LDL), and fats (triglycerides) in the blood. In addition, the preparation increases the level of "good" cholesterol (HDL). The preparation lowers cholesterol levels in the blood through a dual action: it reduces cholesterol absorption in the digestive tract and reduces cholesterol production in the body. In most people, high cholesterol levels do not affect health and do not cause any symptoms. However, if elevated cholesterol levels are not treated, this will lead to the accumulation of fats in the walls of blood vessels, resulting in narrowing of the blood vessels. Sometimes, these narrowed blood vessels can become blocked, and blood may no longer be supplied to certain parts of the heart or brain: naturally, this will lead to a heart attack or stroke. Lowering cholesterol levels can reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and similar health problems. ROZULIP PLUS is used in patients whose cholesterol levels cannot be lowered by diet alone. During the use of this preparation, the cholesterol-lowering diet should be continued. Your doctor may prescribe ROZULIP PLUS if cholesterol levels are not adequately controlled with rosuvastatin alone, or if you are already taking rosuvastatin and ezetimibe at the same doses. ROZULIP PLUS does not promote weight loss. How to take ROZULIP PLUS Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. When taking ROZULIP PLUS, you should continue a low-cholesterol diet and adequate physical activity. The recommended dose for adults is one capsule per day. ROZULIP PLUS is taken once a day. You can take this medicine at any time of the day, regardless of food intake. Swallow each tablet with a glass of water. The medicine should be taken every day, at the same time. ROZULIP PLUS is not suitable for the initial treatment of elevated cholesterol. Combination therapy should only be initiated after the appropriate dosage of rosuvastatin or both components of the preparation has been selected. The maximum daily dose of rosuvastatin is 40 mg. It is used only in patients with high cholesterol levels and a high risk of heart attack or stroke, when cholesterol lowering at a dose of 20 mg is insufficient. Side Effects Stop taking ROZULIP PLUS and seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the following symptoms: Rare side effects (may affect 1 in 1000 people or less): Allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face, tongue, and/or throat – this may cause difficulty breathing and swallowing. Unusual muscle pain that lasts longer than usual. Rarely, life-threatening muscle damage – rhabdomyolysis – may occur: this causes general weakness, fever, and impaired kidney function. Unknown frequency (cannot be estimated from available data): Sores or blisters on the skin, in the mouth, eyes, and external genitalia – this may be a sign of Stevens-Johnson syndrome (a life-threatening allergic reaction that affects the skin and mucous membranes).
