What is it?
Plantain Leaves Composition: Plantain leaves contain mucilage, bitter and tanning substances, ascorbic acid, vitamin K, glycoside aucubin, flavonoids. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Herbal sedative. Indications: For internal use - as an expectorant for upper respiratory tract infections - bronchitis, whooping cough, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary tuberculosis; to increase stomach acidity - for anacidic gastritis and chronic colitis. For external use - as a wound healing agent. Dosage and administration: 10 g of raw material should be poured into an enameled dish with 200 ml (1 teacup) of boiling water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Then it should be cooled to room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered and the remaining mass squeezed. Boiled water should be added to the prepared infusion to reach the initial volume (200 ml). The prepared infusion is valid for 48 hours. Take (adults) warm, 1/3 teacup 3 times a day, 10-15 minutes before meals. For external use (for wounds), a compress soaked in the infusion is applied to the damaged skin areas. Side effects: No side reactions are observed when the indicated dose is taken. Contraindications: Individual hypersensitivity to the plant, gastritis, stomach ulcer and high acidity. Interaction with other drugs: Can be used together with other drugs. Pregnancy and lactation: Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is allowed only in consultation with a doctor. Driving and operating machinery: No effect. Overdose: Side effects developed in case of overdose are not dangerous. Appearance and packaging: 40 g of herbal raw material is placed in a polyethylene bag and a cardboard box.
