What is it?

Senadexin-Neo Composition: Active ingredient: Senna leaves extract (contains 20% calcium salts of A and B sennosides) -- 0.07g. Inactive ingredients: Lactose, starch (corn and potato), povidone, vanillin, methylparaben, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, calcium stearate. The medicinal product is prepared on the basis of senna (Alexandrian senna) leaves (Cassia angustifolia Vahl.; Cassia acutifolia Del.; Family – Fabaceae). The plant leaves contain anthraglycosides: A and B sennosides and other anthracene derivatives: rheins, aloe-emodin; flavone glycosides - isorhamnetin, kaempferol, kaempferin, organic acids (linoleic, stearic, palmitic, etc.), phytosterin, phytosterolin, polysaccharides and traces of alkaloids. Pharmacological action: A herbal laxative (total anthraglycosides of senna leaves) irritates the receptors of the intestinal mucosa, reflexively enhances peristalsis (especially the large intestine), which leads to faster emptying of the intestines and restoration of its normal functioning rhythm. It does not interfere with digestion. The effect of the preparation begins 8-12 hours after administration. Indications: Used in complex therapy as an adjunct. Constipation (hypotonia and atonia of the gastrointestinal tract, relaxation of large intestine peristalsis, including in the postoperative period, after childbirth). Dosage and administration: Take orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 or 2 tablets in the evening before bedtime. If there is no effect, the dose can be increased to 2-3 tablets per dose after a few days. Children aged 1 to 6 years: one-third of the adult dose per single dose in the evening, before bedtime. Children aged 6 to 12 years: half of the adult dose per single dose in the evening, before bedtime. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, intestinal obstruction, incarcerated hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal organs, peritonitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic colitis, water-salt metabolism disorders. Caution: Prescribe with caution – during pregnancy and lactation, in children under 6 years of age, in liver and kidney failure; in the postoperative period. Side effects: The laxative effect of the preparation may be accompanied by abdominal cramping pain. Overdose leads to increased gas formation in the intestines and diarrhea. In such cases, the dose should be reduced or the administration of the preparation should be discontinued. Special instructions: During treatment with the preparation, urine becomes yellowish-brown or reddish-violet. This should not cause concern, as the natural color of urine is restored after discontinuation of the preparation. Interaction with other drugs: Inhibits the absorption of tetracyclines. Storage conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 C, in a dry place protected from light.
