What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Codeinum+Paracetamolum+Caffeinum Composition of the preparation: Each tablet contains Active substances: Paracetamol 500 mg, Codeine Phosphate 8 mg, Caffeine 30 mg. Excipients: Soluble starch, Corn starch, Povidone, Potassium sorbate, Microcrystalline cellulose, Purified talc, Stearic acid, Magnesium stearate, Ethanol (95%), Demineralized water, Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, Carmoisine E122. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Analgesic non-narcotic agent. Indications: "Solpadeine" is indicated for pain syndrome: headache, migraine, toothache, pain in sciatica, neuralgias, pain in muscles and joints, sprains, painful menstruation, sinusitis and sore throat. "Solpadeine" is also used to reduce elevated temperature and for symptomatic treatment of colds and flu. Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, and any other ingredient of the preparation; - Concurrent use of other preparations containing paracetamol; - Severe liver and kidney disorders; - Blood diseases (thrombocytopenia, anemia); - Genetic absence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; - Glaucoma; - Respiratory failure, post-traumatic condition of the brain, increased intracranial pressure; - Arterial hypertension; - Pregnancy and lactation period; - Childhood (up to 12 years) With caution – in case of Gilbert's syndrome (constitutional hyperbilirubinemia), congenital hyperbilirubinemia (Dubin-Johnson and Rotor), and bronchial asthma, in elderly age. Methods of administration and dosages: Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day, as needed. Interval between doses – at least 4 hours. Taking the maximum single dose (2 tablets) can be done no more than 4 times in 24 hours (maximum daily dose 8 tablets). It is not recommended to use the preparation for more than 5 days as an analgesic and for more than 3 days as an antipyretic without medical supervision and prescription. Increasing the daily dose of the preparation and the duration of treatment is possible only under medical supervision. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist. Do not take more than the indicated dose. In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately, even if you feel well. Side effects: At recommended doses, the preparation is usually well tolerated. Nausea, epigastric pain, allergic reaction in the form of skin rash, itching, and Quincke's edema may develop. Very rarely – anemia, thrombocytopenia, methemoglobinemia. Rarely, increased heart rate, constipation, sleep disturbance, drowsiness, dizziness may be observed. Codeine can cause nausea, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness; caffeine – palpitations and sleep disturbance. With prolonged use of the preparation in doses significantly exceeding the recommended doses, the risk of liver and kidney damage increases, therefore blood count control is necessary.
