Properties

What is it?

International Nonproprietary Name - carbidopa, levodopa, entacapone Clinical-pharmacological group: Analgesic agents → Analgesic-antipyretic agents • Each STARLIT coated tablet contains three active substances: levodopa, used to treat Parkinson's disease, and carbidopa and entacapone, which enhance the therapeutic effects of levodopa in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. • STARLIT belongs to the group of antiparkinsonian, dopaminergic drugs, and your doctor will prescribe it to treat Parkinson's disease. • Parkinson's disease develops as a result of a disorder in the functioning of the central nervous system; it is caused by a deficiency of dopamine, a neurotransmitter produced in the brain. Dopamine ensures the transmission of nerve impulses in the area of the brain responsible for movement. Low production of dopamine leads to movement-related problems. • Levodopa increases dopamine levels in the brain. • STARLIT helps reduce symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as limb tremor, rigidity, and slowness of movement, which significantly complicate daily activities. • If you have any questions about the mechanism of action of this medication or why this drug has been prescribed to you, consult your doctor. Recommendations for adequate use and dosage of the preparation: Always use STARLIT in accordance with your doctor's recommendations. If you are unsure about anything, always check with your doctor. Your doctor will tell you exactly how many STARLIT tablets you should take daily; depending on how you respond to treatment, your doctor will decide whether to prescribe a relatively higher or lower dose. Do not take more than 10 tablets per day if you are taking the following STARLIT doses: 50/12.5/200 mg; 75/18.75/200 mg; 100/25/200 mg; 125/31.25/200 mg or 150/37.5/200 mg. If you are using STARLIT at a dose of 175/43.75/200mg, do not take more than 8 tablets per day, and if using STARLIT 200/50/200mg, do not take more than 7 tablets per day. Strictly follow your doctor's instructions on when and how to take STARLIT, other levodopa-containing, or other anti-Parkinsonian drugs. Route and method of administration: Take STARLIT tablets with a certain amount of water (e.g., a glass of water). Each STARLIT tablet contains a full dose of levodopa, carbidopa, and entacapone. Do not split the tablet in half. Different age groups: Use in pediatric contingent: Due to the lack of data on the use of STARLIT, the use of the medication in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended. Use in elderly patients: Dose adjustment is not required in patients aged 65 years and older. Special conditions: Renal/hepatic insufficiency: STARLIT can be used in patients with severe renal insufficiency, including those on dialysis. Use STARLIT with caution in patients with mild/moderate hepatic insufficiency; dose reduction may be necessary in this case. Your doctor will advise you on the duration of STARLIT treatment. Do not stop treatment prematurely, as this may worsen your illness. If you feel that the effect of STARLIT is too strong or too weak, please inform your doctor or pharmacist. If you have used more STARLIT than your prescribed dose, seek immediate medical attention from your doctor or pharmacist.
