What is it?
Composition of the medicinal product: Active substance: Streptocide; 1 g of ointment contains 0.1 g of sulfanilamide (streptocide); Excipient: Vaseline. The preparation has an antimicrobial effect on streptococci and other microorganisms. Indications. Streptocide ointment is used in the treatment of ulcers, burns, cracks, wounds, pyoderma, and other pathological processes accompanied by the presence of microorganisms or caused by them. Contraindications. The preparation is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to sulfanilamide agents, renal failure, acute porphyria, Graves' disease, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Special instructions. If allergic reactions occur on the skin, the use of the ointment should be discontinued. Interaction with other medicinal products. During the use of Streptocide ointment, the use of preparations such as digitoxin, isadrine, hydrochloric acid, caffeine, mesatone, phenobarbital, adrenaline hydrochloride is not recommended. Methods of administration and dosage. Streptocide ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected area, including under a gauze bandage. The frequency and duration of use depend on the severity of the disease and the achieved therapeutic effect and are determined by the doctor. There is no data on overdose of Streptocide ointment. Side effects. In case of hypersensitivity to sulfanilamide agents, local allergic reactions are possible, the development of which requires immediate discontinuation of the preparation. Shelf life: The ointment should not be used after the expiry date indicated on the packaging. Storage conditions. Store in a cool (8 - 15°C), dark place, inaccessible to children.
