What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - tafluprost Clinical-pharmacological group: Ophthalmology → Anti-glaucoma agents → For topical ophthalmic use → F2 alpha prostaglandin analogs Composition: 1 ml of solution contains: Taflotan in dropper bottle: Active substance: tafluprost – 15 mcg Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, glycerol, sodium phosphate dibasic dihydrate, disodium edetate, polysorbate-80, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid, water for injections. Taflotan in single-dose container: Active substance: tafluprost – 15 mcg Excipients: glycerol, sodium phosphate dibasic dihydrate, disodium edetate, polysorbate-80, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid, water for injections. Description: Clear, colorless solution Dosage form: Eye drops 15 mcg/ml Dropper bottle: in a 2.5 ml polypropylene bottle, with a dropper cap made of plastic, a screw cap and a thin film around it for primary opening control of the bottle. 1 bottle is placed in a cardboard box with instructions for medical use. Single-dose container: 0.30 ml in a single-dose container. 10 single-dose containers in the form of a connected plastic strip are placed in a package made of laminated aluminum foil. 3 packages are placed in a cardboard box with instructions for medical use. Indications: Used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Taflotan is used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. As monotherapy in patients: • when first-line treatment is unsatisfactory • in case of contraindications or intolerance to first-line treatment As adjunctive therapy in combination with beta-blockers. Also Taflotan in single-dose droppers as monotherapy: • for those for whom preservative-free eye drops are recommended. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to tafluprost or any of the excipients. Use in children and adolescents: The use of tafluprost is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, as there is no data on safety and efficacy. Storage conditions: Dropper bottle: store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C Single-dose container: store at 2°C - 8°C. After opening the package, store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. After opening the package of single-dose containers: • the single-dose container should be stored in the package. • eye drops should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. • after single instillation, the dropper should be discarded along with the remaining liquid.
