What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - paracetamol, chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine Clinical-pharmacological group: Pulmonology → Cold remedies → Preparations for systemic use Package with single-use powder Paracetamol (micronized) ------------------------ 500 mg Chlorpheniramine maleate -------------------------------- 4 mg Phenylephrine hydrochloride --------------------------- 10 mg Each sachet also contains the following excipients: sodium benzoate, quinoline yellow coloring, refined sugar, powdered sugar, lemon-flavored powder. Indication: Tylolfen Hot is used to relieve symptoms associated with colds and flu. Contraindication: Tylolfen Hot is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. Patients should be informed that Tylolfen Hot should not be taken with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and that their use should be discontinued 2 weeks before taking Tylolfen Hot. Dosage and administration: Tylolfen Hot is taken orally as follows: Dissolve the contents of each sachet in 160ml (= standard size glass) of hot water and drink immediately. If the preparation is taken again, the interval should be 6 hours. The recommended maximum daily dose is 4 sachets. Pour the contents of the sachet into a glass of water; Fill the glass 2/3 with hot water; Stir, drink completely. The daily dose of paracetamol for patients who consume alcohol should not exceed 2 grams due to the risk of toxic effects on the liver. Side effects: In general, the preparation is well tolerated. Therapeutic doses of paracetamol do not cause toxic effects. It can rarely cause hypersensitivity reactions such as urticaria, skin redness, and itching; prolonged use in large doses may cause thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, and pancytopenia. Cases of neutropenia, purpura thrombocytopenic, and agranulocytosis are very rare. Chlorpheniramine maleate may cause sedative effects, blurred vision, urinary retention, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, arrhythmia, hypotension, hepatitis, hemolytic anemia, and antimuscarinic reactions. The negative effects of phenylephrine may include tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmia, tachycardia, hypertension, vomiting, headache, allergic skin reactions, sleep disturbances, hallucinations, and occasional urinary retention in men.
