What is it?
Composition: Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid Indications: THERAPIN BID Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the indicated organisms in the conditions listed below: Upper respiratory tract infections: Tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media Lower respiratory tract infections: Acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchopneumonia Urinary tract infections: Cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis Soft tissue and skin infections: Furuncle, abscess, cellulitis, wound infections Dental infections: Dent alveolar abscess Other infections: Intra-abdominal sepsis Contraindications: * CLAMOXI® is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to any penicillin group preparation. * Cross-infection may occur with other beta-lactam antibiotics. * Contraindicated in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid or penicillin. Pregnancy: Use during pregnancy after assessing the risk-benefit ratio. Lactation: CLAMOXI can be taken during lactation. Dosage and Administration: THERAPIN BID dry powder for oral suspension for children aged 2 months to 6 years. The recommended daily dose is: For mild to moderate infections: 25/3.6 mg/kg/day (amoxicillin/clavulanate) For more severe infections: 45/6.4 mg/kg/day (amoxicillin/clavulanate) The daily dose should be divided into equal doses and taken every 12 hours. Children from 2 months to 2 years: The dose for mild and severe infections should be calculated based on body weight. Children aged 2-6 years: For mild to moderate infections, the recommended dose of THERAPIN BID is: 25/3.6 mg/kg/day (amoxicillin/clavulanate) 2-6 years (13-21 kg) 5 ml every 12 hours 45/6.4 mg/kg/day (amoxicillin/clavulanate) 2-6 years (13-21 kg) 10 ml every 12 hours THERAPIN BID oral suspension is not recommended for children under 2 months of age due to immature renal function. Instructions for preparing oral suspension: Add water to half the bottle and shake well. Wait 5 minutes until a homogeneous dispersion is formed. Add water to the mark and shake well again. The reconstituted suspension is active for 7 days in the refrigerator, according to storage conditions. Shake the oral suspension well before use. Do not freeze. Storage conditions: Store below 25C in a dry place. The reconstituted suspension is stable for 7 days when stored in the refrigerator (-2-8C)
