International Nonproprietary Name - comb. drug Clinical-pharmacological group: Obstetrics, Gynecology → Antiprotozoal, Antimicrobial and Antifungal Agents for Local Use Composition Vaginal tablets One tablet (1.2g) contains: Active substance: Ternidazole 0.2g Neomycin sulfate 0.1g or 65,000 units Nystatin 100,000 units Prednisolone in the form of sodium metasulfobenzoate 0.003g Excipients in the capsule composition: Starch, lactose, anhydrous colloidal silicon, talc, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, povidone, flavoring. Indications - Treatment of vaginitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, including: - Bacterial vaginosis - Bacterial vaginitis caused by banal pyogenic flora - Vaginal trichomoniasis - Vaginitis caused by Candida group fungi - Prevention of vaginitis - Pre-operative period for gynecological surgeries - Pre-operative period for childbirth and abortion - Pre- and post-operative period for intrauterine device insertion - Pre- and post-operative period for cervical diathermocoagulation - Pre-hysterosalpingography Dosage and Administration One tablet is inserted vaginally in a lying position before bedtime. The average duration of the treatment course is 10 days; in case of confirmed mycosis, treatment can be extended to 20 days. Do not stop treatment during menstruation. Before inserting the tablet into the vagina, moisten it with water for 20-30 seconds. After insertion, it is necessary to remain in a lying position for 10-15 minutes. Side Effects Local reactions: Rarely, burning sensation, local irritation (especially at the beginning of treatment). In isolated cases, allergic reactions are possible. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Pregnancy and Lactation The preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation according to indications. Special Instructions During the treatment of vaginitis and trichomoniasis, treatment of sexual partners is recommended. Overdose Due to low absorption into the systemic circulation, overdose is unlikely. Interactions with Other Drugs Clinically significant interactions of Terginan with other drugs have not been identified.
