What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - triamcinolone Clinical-pharmacological group: Glucocorticoids → Glucocorticoid agents for injection Composition: The active substance is triamcinolone acetonide. One glass ampoule contains 1 ml of white suspension, which includes 40mg of triamcinolone acetonide. Other excipients are benzyl alcohol, polyethylene 4000, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polysorbate 80, sodium chloride, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, water for injection. Physical characteristics and packaging of Triam-Denk 40 injection: White, homogeneous suspension in a 2 ml yellow glass ampoule. Indications Triam-Denk 40 injection is an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic preparation (glucocorticosteroid). Triam-Denk 40 injection is used in the following cases: Intramuscular injection: - When high doses of corticosteroids are required, including some types of allergies and dermatological and connective tissue diseases; - During seasonal allergies, it is possible to achieve symptom remission for the entire period with one intramuscular injection; Intra-articular injection: - To reduce pain and swelling, with significant improvement in mobility; - Relief of joint pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and acute arthritis during gout. Local injection: - Acute and subacute bursitis, epicondylitis, tendinitis, and acute, non-specific tenosynovitis. Contraindications Triam-Denk 40 injection should not be used in the following cases: - If the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to triamcinolone acetonide, benzyl alcohol, or any of the ingredients in Triam-Denk 40 injection; - In premature infants and newborns. Triam-Denk 40 injection must not be administered into the vitreous body of the eye (through the vitreous body). Long-term treatment should not be initiated in the following cases: Gastrointestinal ulcer, severe osteoporosis, if there is a history of psychiatric illness, acute viral diseases, such as herpes zoster, herpes simplex, varicella, amebiasis, HBsAg-positive chronic active hepatitis, approximately 8 weeks before and 2 weeks after vaccination, tuberculous or syphilitic skin processes, fungal infections of internal organs (systemic mycosis) and parasitosis, poliomyelitis, lymph node enlargement (lymphadenitis) after BCG vaccination, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, abscesses and purulent infections, seizures, myasthenia gravis, glaucoma (narrow and open-angle glaucoma). Intra-articular injection should not be performed in the following cases: Infection in or around the joint being treated, bacterial arthritis, instability of the joint being treated, tendency to bleed (spontaneous or due to anticoagulants), periarticular calcification, non-vascularized osteonecrosis, tendon rupture, Charcot's joint. Children: Triam-Denk 40 injection should not be used in children under 12 years of age and administered intramuscularly in adolescents under 16 years of age. Since Triam-Denk 40 injection is a crystalline suspension, it must not be administered intravenously. Special precautions during Triam-Denk 40 injection: Note: The suspension should be shaken to achieve a homogeneous consistency. Care should also be taken to avoid accidental intravascular injection. This is particularly true for injections into the face (above the lips) and scalp, as well as into the gluteal muscle. Due to their specific nature, intra-articular administration of glucocorticoids increases the risk of joint infection.
