What is it?
Composition 1 tab. Trimebutine maleate. . . . . . . . . 200 mg Excipients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, crospovidone, magnesium stearate. Pharmacological properties Trimebutine acts on the smooth musculature of the gastrointestinal tract, regulating gastrointestinal motility. It does not affect the central nervous system. Indications - Disorders of gastrointestinal motility, defined as irritable bowel syndrome; - Functional gastrointestinal disorders: diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, intestinal spasms. Dosage and administration Tribux Forte is always taken as recommended by a doctor. If you have any doubts about taking the medication, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Adults Half a tablet (100 mg) 3 times a day (300 mg per day) before meals. In exceptional cases, the doctor may increase the dose up to 600 mg per day. In such cases, take 1 tablet (200 mg) 3 times a day. Use in children Children over 12 years of age: Trimebutine can be used in children over 12 years of age, the dose should not exceed 6 mg/kg of body weight per day. Children under 12 years of age: The use of Tribux Forte is not recommended in this age group. Use of Tribux Forte with food and drinks: The medication is taken before meals, with a glass of water. Method of administration The tablets should be swallowed whole, with a glass of water. Tribux Forte is used for a short period. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. Overdose of Tribux Forte: If you take more than the recommended dose, seek immediate medical attention from a doctor or pharmacist. Missed dose of Tribux Forte: Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed dose. If you forget to take the medication, take the next dose at the usual time. Discontinuation of Tribux Forte: If you have any doubts about taking the medication, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Side effects Like all medicines, Tribux Forte can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Frequent: (occurs in 1 to 10 out of 100 people): Drowsiness, weakness; fatigue; dizziness; feeling hot or cold; headache; apathy; dry mouth; taste disturbance; diarrhea; indigestion; epigastric pain; numbness of the mouth; nausea; vomiting; constipation; thirst. Uncommon (occurs in 1 to 10 out of 1,000 people): Rash. Rare (occurs in 1 to 10 out of 10,000 people): Irregular heartbeat; impaired liver function, including increased levels of A1AT and AspAT liver enzymes in the blood. Very rare (occurs in less than 1 out of 10,000 people, including isolated cases): Anxiety; hearing impairment; hepatitis; skin changes (itching, hives, redness, vesicles, papules, exudation, erythema); urinary retention; menstrual cycle disorders; painful breast enlargement in women; breast enlargement in men (gynecomastia); breast pain. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to trimebutine or any of the excipients of Tribux Forte. The use of Tribux Forte is not recommended in children under 12 years of age. Pregnancy and lactation Pregnancy: There is insufficient data on the use of trimebutine during pregnancy. Therefore, Tribux Forte is not recommended until the end of the third month of pregnancy. The drug may be prescribed from the fourth month of pregnancy, only if necessary. Lactation: Tribux Forte can be used during lactation only if necessary. Special warnings Important information about some of the ingredients of Tribux Forte: The preparation contains lactose monohydrate. If the patient is informed of intolerance to some sugars, before taking the preparation. Effects on ability to drive and use machines: Tribux Forte, at recommended doses, has no effect on the ability to drive and use machines, nor does it reduce psychomotor activity. Overdose: If you take more than the recommended dose, seek immediate medical attention from a doctor or pharmacist. Interactions with other medicines Inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: - Zotepine (psychotropic drug); - D-tubocurarine (antispasmodic, used in general anesthesia); - Cisapride (used for gastrointestinal disorders); - Procainamide (used for heart function disorders); - Calcium channel blockers (used for hypertension and heart diseases); - Captopril (used for hypertension); - Reserpine (used for hypertension); - Midazolam (used for sleep disorders). Storage conditions and expiry dates The preparation should be stored at a temperature of 15-25oC, in a dry, protected from light and children place. Shelf life - 3 years. Dispensing from pharmacy The preparation is dispensed by prescription only.
