What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Latanoprostum What Unilate is and what it is used for Unilate belongs to the group of prostaglandin analogue preparations. Its main mechanism of action is related to increasing the outflow of intraocular fluid. Unilate is used in patients with open-angle glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure. Both of these conditions are associated with increased intraocular pressure, which affects vision. Unilate can also be used for the treatment of intraocular pressure and glaucoma in infants and children of any age. What you need to know before using Unilate Unilate can be used by adult men and women (including the elderly) and children from birth up to 18 years of age. The effect of Unilate has not been studied in premature infants (gestational age less than 36 weeks). Do not use Unilate in the following cases if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to latanoprost or any of the other ingredients in the preparation during pregnancy or if you are trying to become pregnant; during lactation. How to use Unilate Always use Unilate as prescribed by your doctor or your child's doctor. If you are unsure about anything, consult your doctor or pharmacist, or your child's doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose is: Usually, the dose for adults (including the elderly) and children is one drop once a day in the affected eye(s). Instillation is best done in the evening. Do not use Unilate more than once a day. Frequent use of the preparation may reduce its effectiveness. Unilate should be used according to the instructions and duration specified by your doctor or your child's doctor. How to store Unilate Keep out of reach of children. Do not use this medicinal product after the expiry date indicated on the carton and bottle. The expiry date is the last day of the specified month. Before first opening: Store in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Store protected from light, in the original packaging. After first opening: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Use within 28 days after first opening. Store Unilate protected from light, in the original packaging. Do not use Unilate if the bottle is visibly externally damaged or if you notice that the protective seal is damaged. In such cases, return the preparation to the pharmacy. Medicinal products should not be disposed of down the drain or in household waste. For the disposal of unused medicinal products, ask your pharmacist. These measures will help protect the environment.
