Vegaspan Suspension for Injection Name Vegaspan Suspension for Injection (5 mg + 2 mg) / 1 ml, 1 ml ampoule #1 Pharmacotherapeutic group Corticosteroids for systemic use, Glucocorticosteroids Contraindications Hypersensitivity to betamethasone, other corticosteroids, or excipients Systemic fungal infections Intramuscular use is contraindicated in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura Dosage and administration Systemic use: Treatment begins with 1–2 ml, repeated as needed Injection is given deep into the gluteal muscle (IM) Dose and frequency depend on disease severity and therapeutic effect Special cases: Acute diseases (erythematous lupus, asthmatic status) – 2 ml may be needed initially Most dermatological conditions respond well to repeated 1 ml injections Respiratory system diseases (bronchial asthma, allergic bronchitis/rhinitis) – effect is observed within a few hours after 1–2 ml of Vegaspan Treatment of acute or chronic bursitis – 1–2 ml, repeat as needed Warning and safety: Shake well before use Vegaspan is not intended for intravenous or subcutaneous administration Aseptic technique must be observed Contains two ethers of betamethasone; one (betamethasone sodium phosphate) is rapidly absorbed from the injection site – the physician should consider the systemic effect
