What is it?
Viral Gel 30mg/g Eye Ointment Before using this medicine, read the instructions carefully as it contains important information for you. Keep the instructions as you may need to read them again. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine has been prescribed for you, do not give it to others. It may harm them even if their signs of illness are the same as yours. If you experience any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Composition: Viral Gel 30mg/g Eye Ointment contains: The active substance is acyclovir 1g ointment, which contains 30mg of acyclovir; the other ingredient is white soft paraffin. Indication: Viral Gel Eye Ointment is a medicine containing an active substance with antiviral action. It is intended for the treatment of eye infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, which causes inflammation of the cornea (keratitis). Contraindication: Do not use Viral Gel Eye Ointment if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to acyclovir, valacyclovir, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Warnings and Precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Viral Gel Eye Ointment: if you wear contact lenses. You should avoid wearing contact lenses while using acyclovir vision eye ointment. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Other medicines and Viral Gel Eye Ointment: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Fertility: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Effects on ability to drive and use machines: Viral Gel Eye Ointment may cause blurred vision and temporary effects on vision. Therefore, caution is recommended when driving and operating machinery. How to use: This medicine should always be used exactly as described in these instructions or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Adults and Children: Viral Gel Eye Ointment is used by placing a 1cm line of ointment in the conjunctival sac (inside of the lower eyelid), 5 times a day, at approximately 4 (four) hour intervals, except at night. Viral Gel ointment should be used for at least 3 days after symptoms have gone. Elderly patients: There are no special requirements for dose adjustment or method of use. How to use: Viral Gel Eye Ointment is suitable for use in the eye only. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Gently pull down the lower eyelid of the infected eye with your finger. Tilt your head back and look upwards. Apply a 1cm line of eye ointment to the inside of the lower eyelid. Make sure the tip of the tube does not touch your eye. Close your eye for 30 seconds. Wash your hands after use. Overdose: If you use more than the recommended dose, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice, although there is no data on overdose with this medicine, even in case of accidental ingestion of the contents of the package. Missed dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. Then continue to use it at the usual times. If you have any further questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
