International Nonproprietary Name - pinus aetheroleium+Silbiolum VIROGEL 3mg/10mg/g gel VIROGEL Composition: 1g of Virogel contains: Pine essential oil heavy fraction (Pini aetheroleum) – 3mg Silbiolum (Silbiolum) – 10mg Excipients: Carbomer, trolamine, methylparahydroxybenzoate (E218), propylparahydroxybenzoate (E216), ethanol, purified water. Dosage form Gel for intranasal use Pharmacotherapeutic group Rhinological agent Indications Symptomatic treatment of rhinitis of viral etiology, prophylactic protection of the respiratory tract from rhinovirus and influenza virus in adults and children from 3 years of age. Method of administration and dosage A small amount of gel is applied in a thin layer to the anterior part of the nasal cavity, and by sharp inhalation through the nose, the gel penetrates deeper into the nasal cavity. For prophylaxis, the gel is applied every 4 hours, in case of illness - every hour. The preparation is used for 1-2 weeks. In case of chronic illness, treatment can be continued under the doctor's prescription. Side effects When using the preparation, allergic reactions may sometimes occur in patients with hypersensitivity to essential oils of coniferous trees.
