What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name: VISHNEVSKY LINIMENTUM BALSAMICUM Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Antiseptic and local irritant agent. Accelerates regeneration process. Combined preparation for external use. Composition and Dosage Form: Ointment: 40 g tube. Combined preparation. External use preparation. Composition: 3 parts – Xerofoam, 3 parts – Birch Tar, 89–94 parts – Camphor Oil. Therapeutic Properties: Characterized by antiseptic action, acceleration of tissue regeneration (wound healing), and anti-inflammatory properties. Indications: Vishnevsky ointment is used for the treatment of abscesses, carbuncles, furuncles, wounds, ulcers, bedsores, burns, psoriasis, trophic ulcers, and varicose veins in the granulation stage. For vascular diseases of the lower extremities (obliterating endarteritis, thrombophlebitis), lymphadenitis, lymphangitis. Method of Administration: Vishnevsky ointment is used externally in the form of compresses, bandages, and tampons. For furuncles, carbuncles, panaritium – apply Vishnevsky ointment to the purulent collection in the maturation stage for 8–12 hours (gauze bandage with the preparation). After removing the bandage, the skin is cleaned (first dry with a napkin, then with alcohol), then the ointment is applied again. Occlusive dressings can also be used (ointment compress covered with cellophane or compress paper). For thrombophlebitis, several layers of gauze soaked in ointment are applied to the affected limb. The dressing should be changed 2 times a day, alternating between Vishnevsky and Heparin ointment. Pregnancy and Lactation: No data. Special Instructions: No data.
