The most important and easily absorbed form of vitamin D for the human body is vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). It is also called the "sun vitamin" because it is synthesized in the skin as a result of exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays. Vitamin D3 is an antirachitic factor. It regulates calcium and phosphorus metabolism in the body and participates in the mineralization process of bones and teeth, in the formation of the musculoskeletal system, and is essential for the functioning of the parathyroid gland. It is actively involved in various processes occurring in the body. Vitamin D3 deficiency causes: Rickets in newborns and children, impaired tooth enamel formation, growth retardation, pathologies of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems; in adults - decreased immune system function, osteomalacia, possible development of tetany symptoms in pregnant women. Indications: - Prevention of D3 deficiency - For the prevention and complex therapy of rickets - Hypocalcemic tetany - For the prevention and complex therapy of diseases of the musculoskeletal system - Malabsorption - Lactase intolerance - Postmenopausal period - As an adjunct in other diseases caused by vitamin D deficiency Daily dosage: 1 drop once a day, from two weeks of age in children. Recommended for long-term use. More than 1 drop is recommended during the winter period or if individual needs arise, as recommended by a doctor. It is best taken with meals. In children, it can be mixed with milk. Side effects: No side effects are characteristic when taken at the recommended daily dose.
