What is it?
ZINKO KIDS Composition: 5 ml of syrup contains Zinc Sulfate 10 mg. Pharmacological characteristics: Zinc is a component of up to 300 enzymes; it participates in the formation and functioning of the immune system; it promotes electrolyte and water reabsorption, thus protecting the body from the development of diarrhea; zinc is essential for normal body growth, skin hydration, and the development of taste and smell. According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, it is essential to include zinc in children with acute diarrhea, especially up to 6 months of age, to prevent subsequent episodes of diarrhea. Zinc promotes the release of gonadotropins and the normal development of the reproductive system; zinc deficiency is often associated with male infertility. Zinc is a powerful antioxidant; it is essential for the formation of night vision; it participates in the biosynthesis of heme, which is part of hemoglobin. Indications: • Prolonged diarrhea • Increased loss of electrolytes with feces (malabsorption syndrome, inflammatory bowel diseases) • Zinc-deficient conditions (acrodermatitis) • Frequent illness with infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract • Delayed sexual development (delayed formation of secondary sexual characteristics during puberty) • Post-illness convalescence period. Dosage and administration: ZINKO KIDS should be taken during or after meals. Diarrhea: 0-6 months: 5 ml per day (10 mg elemental zinc); 6 months – 3 years: 10 ml per day (20 mg elemental zinc); 3 – 12 years: 15 ml per day (30 mg elemental zinc); Over 12 years: 20 ml per day (40 mg elemental zinc); The daily dose is divided into 2 administrations. The course of treatment is at least 14 days. Other indications for zinc deficiency: Children weighing less than 10 kg: 10 ml per day (20 mg zinc) – divided into 2 administrations; Children 10-30 kg: 10 ml (20 mg zinc) – 1-3 times a day; Children over 30 kg and adults: 20 ml (40 mg zinc) - 1-2 times a day. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on the disease. Side effects: Rarely, gastrointestinal events occur, which are immediately resolved if the patient takes the preparation during or after meals. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity.
