Azimicin Tablet 500mg Composition: Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg of azithromycin, in the form of azithromycin dihydrate. Excipients: Pregelatinized corn starch, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose type 101, microcrystalline cellulose type 102, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate; coating: hypromellose, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide. Indications: Azimicin, 500 mg, film-coated tablets, are indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by azithromycin-sensitive microorganisms. Upper respiratory tract infections: bacterial pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, acute otitis media. Lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, mild to moderately severe pneumonia, including interstitial pneumonia. Skin and soft tissue infections: erysipelas, impetigo and secondary purulent dermatitis; erythema migrans (first symptom of Lyme disease); moderate common acne, in adults only. Sexually transmitted diseases: uncomplicated infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Dosage: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The medicine is taken orally. Dosage in adults, including the elderly, and in children and adolescents weighing more than 45 kg: Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections (excluding erythema migrans and common acne) The total dose of azithromycin is 1.5 g over 3 days (500 mg once daily). Alternatively, the same total dose (1500 mg) can also be taken over 5 days: 500 mg on the first day of therapy and 250 mg from the second to the fifth day of therapy. Erythema migrans: The total dose is 3 g and is taken as follows: 1 g on the first day (2 film-coated tablets, each 500 mg), then 500 mg (1 film-coated tablet) from the second to the fifth day, with a single daily dose. Moderate common acne - in adults only: The total dose is 6 g and is recommended to be taken as follows: one 500 mg film-coated tablet once a day, for 3 days, then one 500 mg film-coated tablet once a week for the next 9 weeks. In the second week of therapy, the medicine should be taken 7 days after the first dose, and the subsequent eight doses should be taken at 7-day intervals. Due to the high dose of azithromycin used in the above dosage regimen, liver enzyme function monitoring is necessary in patients with moderate common acne before and during treatment with azithromycin. The above dosage regimen for cyclical treatment of moderate common acne (3 days + 9 weeks) can only be used once in an individual patient, as there are no controlled clinical trials to date demonstrating the safety and efficacy of this treatment regimen for common acne. Uncomplicated infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis: 1 g (2 film-coated tablets, each 500 mg) as a single dose. Patients with renal or hepatic impairment: If you have kidney or liver dysfunction, you should inform your doctor, as a reduction in the usual dose of the medicine may be necessary. The medicine should not be used in patients with severe hepatic impairment. How to use: Azithromycin is taken orally once a day. Azimicin in the form of 500 mg film-coated tablets can be taken independently of food. The tablets should be swallowed whole. Storage: Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
