What is it?
International Nonproprietary Name - Desloratadinum Pharmacological group: H 1 histamine receptor blockers Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antiallergic agent – H1 histamine receptor blocker. Indications for use - Allergic rhinitis (elimination or relief of sneezing, nasal congestion, nasal discharge, itching in the nose, itching of the palate, itching and redness of the eyes, tearing); - Urticaria (reduction or elimination of skin itching, rash). Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to desloratadine or loratadine; - Pregnancy and breastfeeding; - Children under 12 years of age. Dosage and administration Orally, independently of food intake, at the same time of day. The tablet should be swallowed whole, without chewing, with sufficient water. In adults and children over 12 years of age: 5 mg once daily. In seasonal allergic rhinitis (if symptoms occur less than 4 days per week or less than 4 weeks per year), the course of the disease should be assessed. After the disappearance of symptoms, the drug should be discontinued. Upon re-appearance of symptoms, the drug should be resumed. In perennial allergic rhinitis (if symptoms occur more than 4 days per week or more than 4 weeks per year), the drug should be taken throughout the period of allergen exposure. Use the drug only according to the indications, dosage regimen, and doses specified in the instructions for use. Side effects Psychiatric disorders: Very rare – hallucinations. Nervous system disorders: Frequent: headache. Very rare – dizziness, somnolence, insomnia, psychomotor hyperactivity, convulsions. Cardiovascular system disorders: Very rare - tachycardia, palpitations. Frequency unknown – QT interval prolongation. Gastrointestinal disorders: Frequent: dry mouth. Very rare – abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea. Liver and biliary tract disorders Very rare – increased activity of liver enzymes, increased bilirubin concentration, hepatitis. Frequency unknown – jaundice. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders Frequency unknown: photosensitization. Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders Very rare - myalgia.
