Excipients: Benzalkonium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium citrate, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH), water for injection. Indications: DUCRESA eye drops are indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of inflammation and prophylaxis of infections associated with cataract surgery in adult patients. Official guidelines on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents should be taken into account when using. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the active substance levofloxacin or other quinolones, to dexamethasone or other steroids or to any of the excipients; herpes simplex keratitis, varicella and other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva; mycobacterial infections of the eye caused by acid-fast mycobacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium leprae or Mycobacterium avium complex; fungal infections of the eye; untreated purulent infection of the eye. Method of administration and dosage: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose is 1 drop of solution in the affected eye every 6 hours. The maximum dose is 4 drops per day. The standard course of DUCRESA therapy lasts for 7 days, after which, if the doctor deems it necessary, a 7-day course of steroid eye drops is initiated. Your doctor will advise you on the duration of treatment. If you are using any other ophthalmic medicinal product at the same time, allow at least 15 minutes between the administration of different preparations. Eye ointment should be applied last. Children: The safety and efficacy of DUCRESA in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established. No data are available. The use of DUCRESA eye drops is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Elderly patients: No dose adjustment is required. Patients with impaired liver and kidney function: Studies have not been conducted in patients with liver and kidney failure. Therefore, DUCRESA should be used with caution in such patients. Before instilling eye drops: Wash your hands thoroughly. The patient should adopt a comfortable position (sit down, lie on their back, stand in front of a mirror). Using eye drops: Open the bottle. When opening the bottle for the first time, remove the protective cap. To avoid contamination of the contents of the bottle, do not touch the tip of the bottle to the eyelids, eyebrows, or touch it with your hand. Tilt your head back. Hold the bottle above the eye. Pull down the lower eyelid, look up, and gently squeeze the bottle to instill the eye drops into the eye. Close your eye and gently press on the inner corner of your eye with your finger. This will help prevent the eye drops from entering the nasolacrimal duct, increase their effectiveness, and reduce the risk of adverse systemic effects. If the drop does not enter the eye, repeat the above steps. Close the cap tightly immediately after use.
