What is it?
Active Ingredient: Etoricoxib Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug Composition and Dosage Form: Film-coated tablets 60mg - green, 90mg - white, 120mg - light green. Pharmacodynamics: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Etoricoxib is a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor. At therapeutic concentrations, it blocks prostaglandin synthesis and exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Selective COX-2 inhibition by etoricoxib is associated with a reduction in pronounced clinical symptoms related to inflammatory processes, without affecting platelets and the gastrointestinal tract mucosa. Etoricoxib's COX-2 inhibition has a dose-dependent effect. It does not affect COX-1 when used at doses up to 150mg per day. The drug does not affect prostaglandin production in the gastric mucosa or bleeding time. Studies have not shown a decrease in arachidonic acid levels or collagen-induced platelet aggregation. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; complete or incomplete concordance with bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal polyposis; intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including in history); erosive-ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenum, active gastrointestinal bleeding; cerebrovascular or other types of bleeding; inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease, non-specific ulcerative colitis) in the exacerbation phase; hemophilia and other blood clotting disorders; severe heart failure (NYHA II-IV); severe hepatic insufficiency (more than 9 points on the CHILD-PUGH scale) or active liver disease; severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance <30ml/min), progressive kidney disease; confirmed hyperkalemia; post-aortocoronary bypass period; peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease; clinically expressed ischemic heart disease; solid arterial hypertension, uncontrolled arterial hypertension above 140/90mmHg; pregnancy, lactation; age under 16 years. The drug may adversely affect female fertility and is therefore not recommended for women planning pregnancy.
